Job Summary
The New Product Introduction Program Manager (also known as the SPL Program Manger) is responsible for the execution of the Scaled Product Launch™ process - Columbia Tech’s New Product Introduction process. The SPL Program Manager is responsible for the successful transition of products into Full-Scale Manufacturing. Success is measured by customer satisfaction and business metrics. SPL Program Managers may be responsible for multiple Programs, largely dependent upon size and complexity.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the successful execution of programs through Columbia Tech’s Scaled Product Launch™ Process and for mutually defining expectations with clients throughout the SPL process execution. The SPL Program manager will manage scope, schedule, resources, risks, and performance metrics.
· Support development of Scaled Product Launch™ proposals by developing project scope, cost estimates, appropriate skill requirements, high-level milestones to meet customers' project objectives.
· The principal client point of contact throughout Scaled Product Launch™, responsible for customer satisfaction and maintaining a quality relationship with key stakeholders that result in a valued and trusted partnership while providing a personalized approach to each customer
· The principal Columbia Tech point of contact with senior leadership, responsible for presenting regular concise program status updates, and supporting the timely resolution to critical program issues
· Provide regular project status update reports to customers and senior management, including information from Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineering, Finance, and others as required that highlights status against key milestones, issues, risks, and mitigations impacting performance, schedule, and cost.
· Work with cross-functional team members both in development engineering and manufacturing engineering to ensure that Scaled Product Launch™ deliverables are met. Collaborate with appropriate functional leaders as required to keep the focus on the execution of the SPL process, ensure target dates are being met, and driven to closure
· Monitor the success of the Scaled Product Launch™ Process, including defining key metrics and recommending improvements to the process to align with the Coghlin Companies Scaled Product Launch vision.
· Proficient at leading and mentoring various functional resources and processes that provide key performance indicators on the state of a product design and documentation services to achieve initial product release in a manufacturing setting to full-scale sustainment.
Qualifications
· Positive attitude, self-motivator, tenacious follow-up, and excellent organization skills.
· Superior customer service attitude and communication skills.
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline. Applicable professional experience may be considered in place of certain educational requirements.
· 5+ years Project or Program Management preferred. Professional experience in new product introduction in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality engineering, or other roles in the capital equipment industry may be considered in place of direct project management experience.
· Strong interpersonal skills; must be capable of effectively establishing professional rapport with internal personnel and customers.
· Should be strong in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with Visio and Project preferred.
· Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to customers and internal senior management.
Working Environment
· Generally works in an office environment, but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. Occasional travel required.
Physical Requirements
· Interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
· Must be able to communicate face-to-face, on the phone, and in writing.
